The Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, on Monday ordered the redeployment of troops who participated in the special military exercise in the Niger Delta to Lake Chad region. Mr. Buratai, a lieutenant general, announced the redeployment at the closing of Exercise Crocodile Smile II in Igwuruta, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers. Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said he conceded defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential election as a way of avoiding “anarchy” and setting a standard for democracy in the country. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has handed over two cheques totalling N11.9m to a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Rivers State.
